Laurels Reunion

Back in Junior and Senior year of High School, there were 6 friends. Strong in the Gospel and were involved in everything together! What fun we had!! Then, graduation came, some of us left for BYU, others stayed and went to college....all of a sudden, it's been 34 years!! Lot's of changes--marriages (sometimes multiple), children (or not), illnesses, lots of challenges that faces us all---and still we came together and are still sisters in the Gospel! No matter what we had been through so far, we have not relenquished our love for each other! What a fun reunion we had! Lots of pictures and reminiscing! Remember this? Remember her? Almost all of us need glasses now and between us we have a lot of grandchildren! Who would have thought all those years ago, we would be here, sharing the good and bad times. Thank you, sisters!

Hailey & Rowan

In August, Brooke came to visit with Hailey! It was such fun! Brooke is drawing on the driveway with chalk at Britt & Bobby's new house. Look at that curly hair on Hailey!!

Bob's Retirement Day Escort Home

In June, our friend, Bob Martin, retired from the police force and the office gave him an honorary escort home with all the motorcycle police from the area. It was very moving.

Yummy Wednesday

Today I canned 6 quarts of tomatoes. Our tomatoe vines have done exceedingly well all summer! I've made many batches of salsa, some spaghetti sauce, and now I just wanted some fresh tomatoes for this weinter. Also tried some new recipies today: a new green bean cassarole made with yogurt instead of the heavier and salty cream of mushroom soup, and I tried a drop cookie recipie: White Chocolate Chip and Cranberry with Oats. I had some oats that I flaked in my mill, so they were fresh and I made them with half Splenda brown sugar and half real brown sugar. Some I just put in regular chocolate chips only. Both yummy and so easy! Then, in my bread machine I made brioche bread dough, and shaped them into rolls and baked them!! Ooohh--so good!

Botanical Gardens, Ft. Bragg 9/2009

Quick trip to Ft. Bragg with my great friend, Lorrie Doyle. Had to show her the Dahlias in bloom! Had a great time--talked non-stop for two days and made her listen to ALL my music from my i-Pod. Poor girl! She says she now likes Donovan....don't know if I believe her! It was great weather--glad to get out of the valley heat, even for a day.

Fun dishcloths

Here are some dishcloths I've crocheted (one knitted) for Christmas baskets to be distributed at Christmas.
I like doing these because they are fast and easy and I learn new stitches.
